The Outpost Mexican Eatery silently opened in the West Loop amidst the pandemic by Owner/Operator Anna Kamilis and Chef Partner Jesus Martinez in the Spring of 2020. Located just steps away from the historic Old Post Office and Willis Tower at 520 W. Harrison, the 1,400 square-foot restaurant puts out next-level, authentic flavors in a fast-casual setting that would impress even a big-league Taco expert. The Outpost's simple and straightforward menu focuses on Mexican eats crafted from high-quality ingredients that are sourced from top industry purveyors. Chef Jesus Martinez, Kamilis's longtime friend and experienced industry colleague (formerly of Doughboy Restaurant Group and The Standard Market), built the menu to celebrate the traditional recipes he learned from his Father who ran a small butcher shop and taco joint in Michoacan, Mexico – In fact, The Outpost's chorizo is made with Martinez's father's recipe and customers cannot get enough of it.
